Plus, spiral stairs can be stacked on top of each other: essentially, you'll be able to link all your floors with the compact space of an elevator but without the hassle of mechanical breakdowns. Still, we've got spiral stairs now, which are far more compact and easier to deal with than traditional stairs. New clothes gave way to a bunch of new objects, and there is little new flooring and wallpaper options. It's a small thing and doesn't greatly impact gameplay, but it's useful for Sims with the Pleasure or Popularity aspiration. If the bar is high, in other words, then when that Sim meets someone new, their starting relationship is somewhat higher to start than usual. The meter only affects your starting relationships with strangers. If you are nice to people, it goes up if you're mean, it goes down. It starts off at the bottom (called "average cabbage"), and it goes up and down based on your interactions on community lots to NPCs. You can toggle these actions anytime through the standard interaction menu, and like lights, the actions happen immediately (so the Sim doesn't have to physically go up to it).Ī new meter buried in the personality screen shows your social reputation to strangers. The other one turns the phone off entirely, so you won't even get that much. One is "Screen Calls" mode, which still has the pop-ups in the corner if someone important calls or warns you that their relationship score is too low. Tired of hearing the damn phone ringing off the hook? You can now set any phone to two silence modes. In other districts, there are 2 expensive Penthouses and a few high-rent Apartments, only appropriate for Sims who are super wealthy. You know the drill by now: this section lists all the changes to the The Sims 2 engine, ordered from least important to most important. Note the Old Salt House is the only regular house in San Myshuno. Naturally the Penthouses listed here are exempt from this and are certainly the largest housings that you can own in the new city of San Myshuno. Mainly look to that for the main differences. You can assume that higher costs for rent and deposits does equate to more building space. I've listed the occupied places as well, as you can evict Sims or move them around to rent anything you want. Here is a list of all the apartments in City Living. You can then click the house/apartment you want to evict or move out, and make room for your Sims to live in that apartment. Hit Esc to bring up the menu while in live mode, then pick 'Manage Worlds'. I'd like to invite people to check out my content and, if you like what I'm doing, subscribe! Sims may occupy any apartment you want. I now have over 125 videos on Youtube and am nearing 100k subscribers. Learn more about Lot Traits for houses and apartments here.ġ0 Million Views! My YouTube channel has grown a lot the last 6 months. An apartment can have up to three Lot Traits, so if you only see one listed when you're moving in, you can place two more upon moving in. Some Lot Traits cannot be changed, such as Historical. You can change Lot Traits by clicking the icon in the upper-left corner while in build mode. Lot Traits are special boosters or penalties for living in that apartment. For a multi-generational family, this aspect will save a lot of money long-term, but you can expect to pay some very high costs to live in a penthouse. The major difference is that Penthouses are owned and do not have rent. Penthouses are different from Apartments, and City Living offers a few of them. Buying a Penthouse is something you can do to make room for a large family in San Myshuno. This appears when a rental has more than one level, so if it seems overpriced it is possible that there are multiple floors to the apartment. When you're browsing apartments on the city map, sometimes you'll see an up/down arrow to the right of the building when an apartment building is selected. Sims must also pay for Furnishings, which can substantially boost the cost to move in, but has no affect on the weekly rent. Rent is paid weekly so long as you live there. Deposit is the flat cost you pay to move into the apartment. In order to move into an Apartment, a Sim must have at minimum the cost of deposit and should expect to be able to afford the weekly rent for a time. Basics: Rent, Deposit, Furnishings and Lot Traits This guide covers nearly everything you need to know about their rent prices, deposits, and how apartments and penthouses compare to houses in other neighborhoods. One of The Sims 4 City Living Expansion's main features are the apartments for Sims to rent in San Myshuno. Get wealthy enough in The Sims 4 City Living, and you can afford to purchase a multi-level Penthouse, which does not have rent unlike regular Apartments.
